NEW YORK: Hollywood actor Ethan Hawke is still trying to mend his broken heart, resulting from a split with wife Uma Thurman, following his alleged affair with Canadian model Jen Perzow.

According to a report in rate the music.com, Hawke told American magazine Details that he talks to his ‘Gattaca’ co-star Jude Law and listens to Johnny Cash records in an attempt to get over the split.

Hawke and Thurman separated in August 2003 after five years together, six months after Law split from his wife, fashion designer Sadie Frost.

The Texan actor has never confirmed or denied he cheated on Thurman, who has since found love with hotel tycoon Andre Balzas. “If our problems were that simple, we would still be together,” Hawke said.

Meanwhile, Thurman’s ‘Kill Bill’ director Quentin Tarantino has hinted at a romance with pal Uma — despite recently declaring his joy for her new relationship with hotelier Andre Balazs.

The eccentric film-maker had been rumoured to be dating Thurman after her marriage dissolved last year, but Tarantino dispelled any suspicions of such a relationship when he confirmed her romance with Balazs.

But now Tarantino says on whether he and Thurman have advanced their relationship past the friendship stage, “I’m not saying that we haven’t, and I’m not saying that we have. We love each other, but we’re almost too close now to be a couple. We had out life together on ‘Kill Bill’. It was like a marriage in every way.”
