Helen Mirren regrets tattoo
LOS ANGELES: Dame Helen Mirren regrets a tattoo she got as a drunken young woman because they are now ''completely mainstream''.
Dame Helen Mirren has admitted her tattoo was a drunken mistake.
The 64-year-old actress claimed she got the small piece of body art on her hand as an act of rebellion when she was younger.
She said: "I was very, very drunk. It was a very, very long time ago, when only sailors and Hell's Angels were tattooed, honestly, and prisoners.
"I decided to get a tattoo because it was the most shocking thing I could think of doing."
The 'Queen' star no longer likes the tattoo because everywhere she goes she sees people with inkings
She told US TV show 'Good Morning America': "Now I'm utterly disgusted and shocked because it's become completely mainstream, which is unacceptable to me."
Meanwhile, Helen is set to escape the mainstream with a possible role as a foul-mouthed medieval monarch in Quentin Tarantino's new film.
A source said: "It will feature his trademarks - bloody violence and foul language. Helen has never worked with Tarantino and is interested. If the film goes into production it's likely she will play a part."
