LONDON: Rock legend Jimi Hendrix was murdered by his manager Michael Jeffery in London for an insurance policy, says a friend. Hendrix's former roadie James Tappy Wright revealed that the singer was stuffed with drugs and booze by his manager, reported contactmusic.com.

A Life Insurance policy worth $1.8 million for Hendrix, who died in 1970, was taken by the manager, the beneficiary of the policy.
