HOLLYWOOD: Kate Hudson, 30, dazzles in a trailer for the upcoming star-studded Nine with a singing and dance routine.

Nine brings out Hudson's so far hidden talents as a performer. She has mostly starred in comedies and romantic fare but is best known for her role in Almost Famous, the story of a Rolling Stone reporter.

Nine casts a slew of stars in an adaptation of a Tony-winning Broadway musical. Daniel Day-Lewis plays Guido, who is surrounded by beautiful women in lingerie and spangly gowns. They include Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.

Hudson plays a fashion reporter and in the trailer sings of Cinema Italiano.

Hudson's mother, Goldie Hawn, is a veteran actress, comedienne and performer whose background was musical theatre. Her ex-husband is a rock musician, Chris Robinson.

Nine opens on both coasts on December 18.
