Hunt for supermodel begins
Biratnagar :
Rinku Adhikari, Chandani Sharma, Alina Poudel, Anjina Bohra and Samyukta Lamichhane were winners of first selection round of the ‘Lux Supermodel Hunt’ organised in Biratnagar on August 26.
The girls, except Anjina who is from Jhapa, are all residents of Biratnagar. These five belles will compete in the final to be organised in Kathmandu. The winners of the competition organised by Unilever Nepal Limited said they would continue modelling in the days to come.
Altogether 47 girls from 18 to 24 years age group of eastern region had participated in the competition. Model Suchitra Aharya, the first ever winner of Lux Model Competition, was in the judges’ panel.
Contestants had come from many places like Biratnagar, Jhapa, Dharan, Itahari, Damak, Birtamod and Urlabari. According to representative of Lux, Sachin Shrestha, separate competitions will be held Pokhara and Kathmandu, and altogether 20 finalists from these places will face off in the final.
Five finalists will be selected from Pokhara on September 1, while 10 from Kathmandu on September 9.
The twenty contestants then will be trained for five days from September 17 to 22 on various aspects of beauty and personality. The winner will be awarded Rs 50,000, while the
first and second runners-up will get Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 each respectively. All three will also get a chance to model for different products of Unilever Nepal.
Rinku Adhikari, who stood first in the Biratnagar round, said she was both nervous and elated during the competition. The finalists were chosen on the basis of beauty, height, confidence, personality and body structure.
