Kathmandu:

The party circuit in the city is certainly looking up and taking off these days! The situation might be tense nationwide but nothing can stop party animals from having a blast every time they decide to take it easy and give themselves a break! And day discos are certainly gaining immense ground, I must say. “Rocking” would be an understatement if one has to describe the party — Carlsberg Big Throwdown — at Rox Bar, Hyatt Regency on April 9. From the most happening DJs, latest soundtracks to the most happening people, it seemed to have it all.

It was quite a monotonous Saturday afternoon and I had not exactly expected a happening party when I first walked into the hotel with my friend. But the outcome totally took me by surprise. DJ Tenzing and DJ Freaky, with their adept hands at the turntables, drove the crowd crazy. It did not miss a single chance to flaunt its dancing skills on the floor. The hip young crowd that comprised majorly youngsters in their late teens or early 20s and 18 was supposed to have been the lower age limit. “This party aims mainly at the school and college going youth, since they don’t get time otherwise to have fun. And since exams are over, it is all the more exciting,” said Gourav Gurung, organiser of the event.
