Indigenous film fest from June 22

KATHMANDU:

The Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival is being held for the first time in Nepal by the Indigenous Film Archive from June 22-24 at the Nepal Tourism Board and the Russian Cultural Centre.

Altogether 30 films will be screened, which include 17 films from 11 Nepali indigenous groups, and 13 international films. The event will have movies, documentaries, short films, animated films and music videos. The films are based on lifestyle, tradition and culture of various indigenous groups to give the a wider perspective to the audience.

To make it convenient for audience there will be subtitles in Nepali or English in all the movies. To encourage filmmakers, the audience are requested to give their feedback about the movies, and the movies will be awarded based on the audience poll.

Ticket is priced at Rs 30 and will be available at the gates of both venues, or from the office of Indigenous Film Archive, Anamnagar. The films will be screened from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
