Indigenous film fest on

KATHMANDU:

The second International Indigenous Film Festival (NIIFF) began here on June 6. The festival was inaugurated at special programme with was graced by distinguished guests like Ambassador of Denmark Fin Thilsted, Jeetpal Kirant, Pasang Sherpa, Ed Doe and Ishwor Chandra Gyawali. Eleven young and enthusiastic newly elected CA members from different indigenous groups lit lamps as a mark of diversity and unity among the indigenous groups.

Around 21 indigenous films from 11 different groups and around 27 international films will be shown during the festival. NIIFF is being organised by Indigenous Film Archive in association with National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities and is being promoted by Embassy of Denmark and Nepal Tourism Board.

The films will be screened at Nepal Tourism Board and City Hall, Exhibition Road from June 6-9. The screenings will begin at 10:00 am. Tickets are available at the venue and priced at Rs 30 each.
