Indigenous film fest to start today
KATHMANDU:
The first Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival will begin from June 22 with a screening of a film in Gurung language at the Russian Culture Centre.
The three-day festival will see films in various indigenous languages from Nepal and around the world screened at two venues — Russian Centre and Nepal Tourism Board. Films from countries like Canada, Finland, Mexico, Norway, the US and Nepal will be screened.
The film to be screened on June 22 is titled Kripa in Gurung language with Nepali subtitles.
A work of fiction, the film is directed by Maotse Gurung. It tells the story of a poor father’s gunyocholo gift.
The ticket for the show at 5:00 pm is priced at Rs 30.
