It’s a noble cycle

Nodan Club organised a fundraising programme at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal on March 11 for cyclist Pushkar Shah who started the first world bicycle tour from Nepal in 1998 with a message of world peace. The two-day event concluded on March 13. In the past seven years cyclist Shah has already travelled across 70 countries and he aims to travel 80 more countries in the remaining four years. His mission is to spread message of peace and to collect the flags of all 150 countries and place them on the top of the world — Mount Everest in 2010. Shah showcased all the personal possessions and photographs he has amassed during his journey. With this programme, he hopes to share his experiences with well wishers and expects words of encouragement from them.
Painter Govinda Shah exhibited his paintings — acrylics on canvas and the money collected from the sale will be donated to support Shah’s noble cause. Similarly, Temba Chhiri Sherpa, the youngest man to climb the Everest, also exhibited his personal belongings including his medal and put them on auction to provide financial support to Shah. There were also photographs, of various mountains taken by Raman, on auction for the same purpose. Singer Ramesh Shrestha’s musical performance with his all time hits also created had a good impact on the audience. Various organisations have shown generosity by raising funds for Shah.
