MONTREAL: American starlet Scarlett Johansson, 23, and Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, 31, were married this weekend, their representatives confirmed to US media, declining to give many details.

Us Weekly said the ceremony took place on “Saturday evening at a remote wilderness resort outside Vancouver,” Reynolds’ hometown, citing Johansson’s spokeswoman.

Wedding guests included Johansson’s mother Melanie Sloan and her brother Adrian Johansson, her representative confirmed.

The marriage is the first for both. The pair, who had been dating since spring of 2007, announced their engagement in May. Reynolds, had previously been engaged to fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette.

Johansson, 23, starred in The Nanny Diaries, Lost In Translation and Match Point. She released her first album in May.
