John to shop for Bips
MUMBAI: Since everyone says it’s her career’s best Bipasha Basu is very keen to make John see her Bengali film Shob Charitra Kalponik. Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem. “He falls asleep in every film. That’s why I don’t take him for friends’ premieres. It could get very embarrassing. How will he sit through my Bengali film for two hours when he can’t follow a word of Bengali?” asks Bipasha.
Bipasha has just returned from London, but not without giving John a big shopping list of the things she wants for her new home.
In London, John Abraham is shooting for Abbas Tyrewala’s film. Says Bipasha, “He was shooting nights. In between, he went to the US for a film festival where Dostana was screened. Then he returned again to shoot. All he does is shoot, gym and sleep.”
She adds, “The weather is superb at this time of the year. The home-equipment stores in London are to die for. The only thing that I really did was shop, and it’s really not over. I’ve given John a list of things to buy and bring back from London. They’re precious knick-knacks. I don’t want a cluttered house. I hate crowding my life.”
Bipasha Basu has now agreed to dub a print of Shob Charitro Kalponik in her own voice so that she can be eligible for the best actress at the National awards.
Says Bipasha, “Yes, I spoke to Ritu after the film’s release. And I’m going to Kolkata in October to dub for the film. The Bengali media has been very kind. But my voice being dubbed has been noticed.”
