There was an extremely wealthy man who did nothing but work his life, saved all his money and never spent a dime. Just before he died, he said to his wife, “When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in the casket with me. I want to take my all my money to the afterlife with me.”

His wife loved him dearly, so she promised him that she would do so.

Finally, he died.

At the service, he was stretched out in the casket, his wife sitting there in black, with her friend was sitting next to her. When the ceremony finished, just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said, “Wait just a minute!”

She came over with a box and put it in the casket.

Then the undertakers locked the casket and rolled it away.

Her friend turned to her in shock and said, “Girl, I hope you weren’t fool enough to put all that money in there with your husband!”

The woman said, “Listen, I can’t go back on my word. I promised him I was going to put his money in that casket with him and I did”

“You mean to tell me you actually put all that money in the casket with him?”

“I sure did,” said the wife, “I wrote him a cheque!”
