Kart-wheeling fun

KATHMANDU:

Since the early morning, the corporate honchos huddled at the BICC premises to contest for what seemed no less than the Formula One corporate contest in Nepal. And while many present seemed gung ho to hop on their wheels, the honchos themselves stupefied spectators steering their wheels at top speed.

This was the second Corporate Go Kart competition organised by the Nepal Youth Foundation. And after a hectic week the busy people got a chance to drive out their stress, tension, anger, frustration... literally.

Though the rain gods seemed to be having some sort of a tantrum at around the time of the opening of the competition, they changed their minds and smiled down and the race went on with full enthusiasm and in the true spirit of competition.

Though there were a few bangings and going out of track (as is usually expected), the competition went on smoothly with no major ‘brakes’ in between.

At the end of the day, Tarun Rungta (Ashoka Electronics) clinched the first prize, while Santu Shrestha (Kumari Bank) and Saurav Dugar (KL Dugar Group) walked away with the second and third prizes.

The first prize includes a two-way ticket to Bangkok sponsored by the Royal Nepal Airlines, while the second and third prize includes a two-way ticket to Pokhara with a two days-three nights stay at Shangri-la Resort, and gift vouchers worth five thousand from the Blue Bird Departmental Store and Autoland.
