KIMFF to begin soon

Kathmandu:

The sixth Kathmandu Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) is being held from December 11 to 15 at Rastriya Sabha Griha and Nepal Tourism Board.

A total of 64 films, which includes 33 in the international non-competitive section, 20 in the international competitive section and 11 films in Nepali Panaroma section will be screened.

The films related to different subjects such as conflict, culture, climbing, wildlife, environment,

globalisation, gender and lifestyle have been selected.

The top three films will receive cash awards of USD 1500, 1000 and 500, which will be decided by a three member international jury consisting Yadav Kharel a Nepali film director, Ugyen Chopel an Indian film maker and Brigitte Muir and Australian mountaineer and author.

Besides the screening of the films it will also include other programmes such as a book release and exhibition, talk show on filmmaking, climbing; photography exhibition and a quiz ‘Know Your Himal.’ A Travelling Package with some of the best films will be screened at various places outside Kathmandu as well. The festival is being organised by Himal Association.
