Kathmandu: A different storyline, actors like Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever — Dhoondte Reh Jaoge has all things required to be a full on comedy but director Umesh Shukla seems a bit lost. The movie has its funny moments and some pretty hilarious ones but the inclusion of some emotional angles is a bit distracting.

Raj Chopra (Paresh Rawal) a failed producer is in desperate need of a hit movie to pay back his financiers and his only hope is superstar Aryan Kapoor (Sonu Sood). Raj tries all tricks to make Aryan sign his film.

Meanwhile Anand Pawar (Kunal Khemu) an honest CA, dreams to be a rich man someday through hardwork so that he can get married to his girlfriend Neha Chattopadhayay (Soha Ali Khan). Neha a girl from Kolkata works in her uncle’s theatre troupe but wants to become a top Bollywood actress.

Fate brings Raj and Anand - who are desperately in need of money — together and thus the birth of a huge scam takes place. Anand makes a plan where they will make a flop movie and run away with all the financiers’ money. They hire the worst writer Parvez Asharraf (Johnny Lever) to write the most horrible script ever. Raj also ropes in Neha to play the lead so that her dream of being an actress also ends with the sinking of the movie. Everything goes as per their plan and while the two are in this together both Raj and Anand have their own plans to double cross each other.

The best thing about this movie is that after a long time the audience gets to see Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever doing what they do the best — comedy. Although Johnny Lever doesn’t have a lengthy role he proves that he hasn’t lost his comedy prowess. Paresh Rawal on the other hand has the maximum role and is at his best — like always.

In terms of acting even the actor who plays Neha’s mama has done a wonderful job as a Bengali play director.

Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan have done commendable work while Sonu Sood has got the chance to show his acting skills. And he doesn’t disappoint.

Unlike many Bollywood movies the best part of this movie comes towards the end. The movie — Solay se Lagaan tak — that the protagonists make in the movie is more hilarious than Dhoondte Reh Jaoge. It is a sere delight to see spoof of hit movies like Sholay, DDLJ, Gaddar and Lagaan. But the director should have restrained himself from adding on emotional and romantic angles instead he should have gone for out and out no brainer comedy. As a whole Dhoondte Reh Jaoge is good to watch atleast once.
