Live learning website for kids
A new website aimed at helping children learn school subjects has been launched, called BBC Jam. The free broadband service for five to 16-year-olds uses video games, sound and animation, allowing you to learn what, when, where and how you want. Teachers and parents can also use BBC Jam to help children with their school work. You can already learn six subjects online, with 20 planned by the end of 2006. — Agencies Robots replace kid jockeysPeople who race camels in the Middle East have replaced children who used to ride them with specially built robots. Some of the kids were as young as three and used to be forced to work as jockeys. Many would get injured every year. But now a bunch of computerised jockeys will do the job instead of them. Camel racing is huge in the Middle East, but the use of children has been banned in many countries.
