Magic Pencil’, an exhibition of art works by Britain’s 13 eminent book illustrators was showcased at the British Council on April 24. Quentin Blake, incumbent children’s Laureate, has made the selection of the exhibits on display. Some of the illustrators remind us of the familiar and almost household names, which includes Tony Ross, Raymond Briggs, John Birmingham, Michael Foreman and Quentin Blake himself. The exhibition was followed by a comprehensive book exhibition and workshops of children. The workshop was aimed to develop children’s skill in drawing cartoons. Rajesh KC and Bashu Chitiz — two qualified Nepali Cartoonist’s — conducted the workshop. Children from different schools are invited to participate in the “Creating Cartoon Workshop”. The exhibition is on till May 6.
