London: Singer Mariah Carey is keen to perform a duet with George Michael at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park here next month. Secret negotiations have reportedly been taking place between the singers.

A source said: “Mariah is a massive fan of George’s. He’s currently recording a duets album, so she thought he might be up for this. She’s so excited to be involved in the Hyde Park gig and was trying to think of something that would make her performance really special. She thinks a duet with George is the perfect thing.” — HNS
