Martin Campbell, the director of the upcoming Bond movie Casino Royale, says that actor Ewan McGregor was the man they originally wanted to play James Bond, but he refused to take up the role. According to ananova.com, Campbell said Daniel Craig got the part only because McGregor turned down the offer. He said: “I think he got another job or decided he didn’t want it.” McGregor was concerned that he would get typecast if he took on the part.
