LONDON:

Actress Eva Mendes has checked into a rehabilitation clinic in Utah, according to reports. Celebrity websites say the 33-year-old actress has entered the Cirque Lodge centre, where fellow actress Lindsay Lohan was treated last year.

Mendes’ publicist said in a statement that she was taking time off to “attend to some personal issues”.

The Cuban-American actress starred in four movies in 2007 including Ghost Rider and We Own the Night.

Her publicist Brad Cafarelli said, “Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues.”

Mendes was this week named as the face of a forthcoming Calvin Klein perfume campaign. The company issued a statement saying, “We support Eva during this difficult time and respect her decision to seek professional help.”
