Miss Nepal 2007 to be held on April 7

KATHMANDU:

Nepal was deprived of a Miss Nepal in the year 2006 due to certain technical reasons. But a press statement released on January 14 by Hidden Treasure, organiser of the Miss Nepal pageant, promises us that we will see Dabur Vatika Miss Nepal crowned in the year 2007.

According to the statement, the pageant will be held on April 7 at the Birendra International Convention Centre, which will be telecast live on Nepal Television.

The application for the pageant will open from January 15, and the last date is February 7. Application forms are available at the Hidden Treasure office, all Nanglo Bakery Café outlets, and all major departmental stores in Kathmandu. For those outside the Valley, forms are available at Birgunj, Dharan, Butwal and Pokhara only. Interviews for the final selection will be held in the above mentioned towns.

The winner of the pageant will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a Kinetic Nova scooter, while the first runner-up will receive Rs 60,000 and the second runner up will receive Rs 40,000.

Apart from the cash prizes, the winners will also get the opportunity to represent Nepal in various international pageants.

Apart from the above titles, a special title – Dabur Vatika My Choice — will be decided on the basis of the general public’s popular vote.
