Music for schooling

Aabaz Cultures, a musical group has decided to organise a musical programme in Namche Bazaar on May 28 and 29. The event will be presented in association with Jana Jagrity Forum for Education and Development and Namche Youth Group. Various national level artists such as Ananda Karki, Lhakpa Sherpa, Shanti Ram Rai, Raju Lama of Mongolian Hearts and Dhiraj Rai have been featured as participants.
The funds raised from the even will go to Shree Jana Jagrity Secondary School in Salleri located in the district headquarters of Solukhumbu. The school is 50 years old and needs support for the development of its physical infrastructure. “I studied in this school and gave my SLC from the same,” said Babu Kaji Shrestha, event organiser of Aabaz Cultures.
“I want to organise such types of programmes in the future also in order to support the school where I gained education. Later, we will help schools in other remote parts of Nepal also.” The organisers have already targetted a school in Lukla Bazaar to raise funds for.
