Nepali Tara: First among girls

Kathmandu:

Since public voting was introduced in Samsung Nepali Tara with equal weight to the marks of the judges, results have been unpredictable. This time, the jury has shocked the public.

Indira Joshi, hot favourite of the public was ousted from Top 5 position. “We have been receiving a lot of mails from Indira’s angry fans,” Nepali Tara presenter Brazesh said.

However, Indira Joshi has achieved the honour of being the only female singer countrywide to reach the top 5 positions. The guest judge, veteran singer Prem Dhoj Pradhan, said, “You are a Nepali Tara for me.” Judge Bimala Rai also congratulated her and believed that her quality voice and singing will fill the void of female singers in the country. Earlier, too, while Indira had sung Bimala Rai’s song, she had complimented her by saying “I will learn the techniques from you.” It was one of the greatest compliments any participant received in the programme. Dipak Jungam believed that Indira’s voice will cover the whole country from Mechi to Mahakali. Aalokshree complimented her on her achievement.

This week saw almost 7,00,000 votes from public. Incidentally, Indian Idol Abhijeet Sawant is coming to Nepal on October 2 and 3 to sing along with Nepali Tara. He has expressed his greetings to Tara fans.
