KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 4

Nepathya, the renowned folk-rock Nepali band, enthralled a full-house Nepali audience in Calgary with its popular numbers as part of its maiden Canada tour on Sunday.

In a statement, Nepalaya, the band's management company said, at exactly 7:00 pm, Nepathya commenced the highly anticipated show at the De Palace Theatre with the music video for "Sa Karnali."

Embracing the warmth of the audience, the band started the concert with one of their smashing hit songs titled 'Koshi Ko Pani Yo Zindagani.' Earlier, Amrit Gurung, Nepathya's vocalist, had collected this song from Dille Damai of Chainpur in Sankhasabha district a decade ago while trekking in the area.

The band entertained the audience with their other hit numbers, including 'Veda Ko Uun Jasto,' 'Chakyo Chekyo,' 'Aagani Vari,' and 'Khanna Ma Lampate Surati,' among others.

From the folk-tune-filled 'Chari Maryo' to the sentimental hit 'Sirafula,' the audience swayed and sang along with Amrit Gurung, Nepathya's vocalist.

In between the musical performances, Amrit Gurung continued to engage with the audience throughout the concert. "You have resettled in foreign lands, earned money through your hard work; you must also benefit Mother Nepal," Amrit Gurung said, emphasizing that Nepathya has been promoting the 'Music for Humanity' campaign since last year, supporting the voices of street children and advocating for human dignity.

The band played a mix of old and new hits, much to the delight of the audience, including 'Resham' and 'Taal Ko Pani,' among others, according to the statement.

By the time the concert had reached its end, Nepathya fans were singing and dancing along with Amrit Gurung. The concert concluded with the band performing 'Rato Ra Chandra Surya.'

As usual, Amrit was supported by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on Keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitars, and Shanti Rayamajhi on madal.

Special arrangements have been made for Nepalese students in these concerts. Tickets can be purchased online through Nepathya's website, nepathya.com.np, reads the statement.
