Nepathya, the renowned folk-rock Nepali band, enthralled the Nepali diasporas in Adelaide with its popular numbers, as part of its Australia tour, on Saturday.
The show was staged at the Hindley Music Hall in Adelaide, where hundreds of people had turned up for the live concert, read a press statement issued by Nepalaya today.
The band kicked off the show with their new song 'Bhat Bhate' and entertained the crowd with their other smashing hit numbers including 'Jomsom Bazaar', 'Bheda Ko Un Jasto', 'Naina Taala', among others.
From folk tune filled 'Sirfula' to sentimental hit 'Yo Zindagani', the audience swayed and sang with Amrit Gurung, Nepathya vocalist.
"It is such a lovely feeling to come to these distant lands and feel the same energy that we get when we perform back home", said Nepathya front man Gurung adding keep loving Nepal and Nepalis where-ever we live.
The band then proceeded to sing more folk rock numbers and Amrit shared his travel memories while collecting the folk melodies at far-flung areas in Nepal.
By the time, the concert has reached its end, fans were singing and dancing along with Gurung---the concert concluded with the band performing 'Rato ra chandra surya'.
The show which started at sharp 9:00 pm, lasted for 2 hours.
On the stage, Amrit was accompanied by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on madal.
The band is scheduled to perform at the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on January 31.
