KATHMANDU, JANUARY 26

Nepal's renowned folk-rock band Nepathya has started Australia tour with captivating performance in Darwin on Wednesday.

The band kicked-off the much-awaited show with their new song 'Bhatbhate' at full-house Darwin Entertainment Centre.

As the concert went on, the band played their ever-green songs including, 'Chekoyo Chekyo', 'Veda ko unjasto', 'Lampate Surati', 'Jomsom Bazaar', 'Sirful Seeraima' among others.

In between the musical performances, Band's lead singer and social activist Amrit Gurung said, "I feel very lucky to had an opportunity to trek majority of Nepal's mountains and valleys." He also urged the audiences not to miss an opportunity to explore these places when visiting Nepal.

The band played a mix of old and new hits, much to the delight of the audience.

By the time, the concert had reached its end, the Nepathya fans were singing and dancing along with Gurung--the concert concluded with the band performing 'Rato Ra Chandra Surya.'

On the occasion, Amrit Gurung urged the audiences to preserve Nepali heritage, culture and tradition where-ever we live.

On the stage, Amrit Gurung will be supported by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Niraj Gurung on guitar, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madals.

After a successful Darwin concert, a 13-member entourage will head to Adelaide to perform at the Hindley Music Hall on January 28.
