Nepathya performs in Butwal
KATHMANDU:
Nepathya performed in Butwal on January 5 and 6 as part of its Shanti ka lagi Shikshya tour, said a nepa-laya statement.
The January 5 show was for a special invited audience comprising mainly students. “We would never have had the opportunity otherwise as we are students studying in a government school,” said a student of Kalika school.
“I am always delighted to sing for children,” the statement quoted Nepathya’s frontman Amrit Gurung as saying.
On January 6 Nepathya performed for the public at the Kalika cinema hall.
“I felt as if I was not in Butwal. I could not believe this was our own local cinema hall,” said a local resident Sagar. The local organiser was Kalika school. A major share from the sale of tickets was kept by the local organisers.
“We set up a library with the money from Sundar Shanta Nepal Show in 2003. We will now add books to the library,” said Kausal Raj Basyal, headmaster of Kalika school.
Nepathya will perform in Dhangadi, Surkhet, Sandhikharka, Tamghas, Pokhara, Besishar, Trisuli Bazaar and Jiri before ending the tour with a concert in Kathmandu on January 31.
