Nepathya's Europe tour concludes with Copenhagen concert

KATHMANDU: Popular Nepali folk-rock band on Tuesday wrapped up their Europe tour after performing at the Amager Bio in Copenhagen and are coming home.

The well-equipped moderate sized concert venue was packed with Nepali and Danish audience, according to Nepalaya.

"So much positive energy – the connection the band had with the audience was just unbelievable," said Gert Meinecke who had served in Nepal as the Chief of Danish Mission during 2001 to 2005.

“It was challenging to organize a Nepathya show in a city where Nepali population is only around 2500.” said Rabindra Khadka, the event coordinator of International Nepalese Artists Society, “I am glad people thoroughly enjoyed the show. Everyone left thanking us for the effort.”

The show had lasted for two hours.

“It has been 24 years since we released our first album and I am indebted to all Nepalis for loving us,” said the band's front man Amrit Gurung, “For an artist, it does not matter how big the crowd is, but rather how loving they are.”

Gurung was accompanied by Dhurba on drums, Suraj on keyboards, Subin on bass, Niraj on guitars and Shanti on madal.

Earlier, the band have performed in Hamburg of Germany on July 30.
