For those who just can’t get enough of Momos ‘MOMO Mania’ is their dream come true where they not only get to enjoy various types of momos but can also test their craze for momos through different competitions.

This year the popular event, organised by Nanglo International, is starting at Bakery Café outlet in Butwal on January 25, and then it will go to Tansen on January 26, finally

coming to Kathmandu on February 2.

“We have 21 varieties of momos this year, with a mixture of meat, vegetables and some new fillings,” said event organiser Nayantara Kakshapati. “We have some sweet momos, fruit momos and lots of different kinds of vegetable momos.”

The three new addition to the huge range of Momo are Mashyaura Momo, which has soyabean nugget filling, Rajmah Momo, which has a sort of a red bean curry filling, and the third one is a light vegetable Momo with very little spice.

Kakshapati said that the emphasis of this year’s ‘MOMO Mania’ would be matching the different types of fillings with the right sauce.

At each venue, the event will be highlighted with two competitions. One is a ‘Momo making competition in one minute’ and the other is ‘Momo eating contest in one minute’.

Of course, there will be entertainment provided throughout the event. People can relish mouth-watering momos while listening to some popular folk music by artistes Kutumba and Sundari Mica. — HNS
