Newman’s not dying, assures biographer
LONDON: Shawn Levy, the would-be biographer of Hollywood veteran Paul Newman, has denied reports that Newman is suffering from cancer and will die soon.
Contactmusic.com reports that rumours about Newman’s bad health started circulating when a Los Angeles Times article reported that he was diagnosed with cancer. Newman and his representatives have been downplaying the reports and now his spokesperson says Newman is “doing fine”.
Levy, who is in the process of writing the biography, thinks the cancer reports are over-reactions to the fact that Newman has been sick for some time.
He said, “Even though the number 83 (Newman’s age) is staring them in the face, they think of Newman as younger than he is. We are talking about this guy like he is dying, but last year, at 82, he finished fourth place in a car race.”
