Night of nostalgia

Kathmandu:

When you hit the floor nothing is better than good old rock and roll. To reminisce in the music of good old days Sound Minds and The Bakery café had organised dance and dinner event Nostalgia Nite at The Bakery Café, Pulchowk on April 5. The windy and chilled evening got hot and happening when well known musicians Dinesh Rai, Jyoti Ghimire, Pravin Manandhar and Sonam Tshering pepped up the show with hits from 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.

The audience comprised of mostly the 40 plus crowd who were there to enjoy music of their time and dance all night long. The musical event which started from 7:00 in the evening and lasted till midnight was successful to keep all its guests on their toes. Songs by The Eagles, The Beatles, Queen and Elvis Presley among others were a big hit. It was not only the youngsters but also their parents who went on the dance floor and danced to the songs like I want to break free, Roadhouse Blues, Wild World and Nepali songs like Diunla and Resham Phiri ri among others.

The first half of the show had more of peppy and foot tapping rock and roll whereas the second half of the show had songs like Hey Jude, Country roads and Beautiful Sunday.

Unlike other times the older crowd stayed back even after the youngsters had left and danced till the end remembering their fun filled times.
