NMC’s second anniversary

Kathmandu:

Nepal Music Centre (NMC) was brimming with beautiful musical creations as ecstatic young students of the centre performed at the premises on February 11 to celebrate the second anniversary of the centre on the day of Saraswati puja. Veteran artiste Kali Prasad Rijal and

Ratna Shamsher Thapa, chairman of the centre graced the event. It certainly was a delightful afternoon as various performances were done displaying the talents and dedication of the students. Musical performances included eastern and western fusion, blues, traditional and folk music.

From original compositions by the teachers which the students gracefully carried out, to the students own creations and cover versions of famous songs, it was all there. When the students performed it was the pace and the tempo that they maintained while performing as a group be it fast numbers which set your foot tapping or slow soulful songs, they surely seemed to have been perfectly attuned to each and every member of the group. It was not only the group performances but the solo ones were equally entertaining as well. Besides the musical performances, the highlight of the day was the launching of NMC’s flag. Certificates were also distributed to the students. With the kind of musical talents that NMC is creating and the passion which the students displayed, we can surely see a bright future for young Nepali talents who are being led to the right direction to nourish their talents by the centre.
