Kathmandu: Given the success of Samsung Nepali Tara, audiences nationwide have realised that there is no dearth of musical talent in Nepal. “I am sure the performance of the top ten will definitely be worth watching,” says Diyan Rai, a ninth grader, who claims to have watched the show only after it reached its fourth round. “I will take part in competition next year,” he said. Rai has won many awards in singing in inter-school competitions. Another Tara enthusiast, Gyan Prasad Koirala of Tahachal, said, “In the beginning, I was apprehensive about the quality of the singers to be discovered but now I must admit that the top ten finalists are far better than the participants in the Indian Idol show.” — HNS
