There will be no Miss Nepal pageant this year.

According to a press statement released by The Hidden Treasure, organiser of Dabur Vatika Miss Nepal, the pageant for the year 2006 has been rescheduled. Instead of being held on August 5, it will now be held only in January 2007.

In the statement, the organisers said it postponed because the Miss World 2006, which was to be held in December, was preponed to September. This preponement, the organisers stated, had left them with very little time to groom Miss Nepal for the pageant. The winner of Dabur Vatika Miss Nepal participates in the Miss World pageant.

The Hidden Treasure had already called for applications. The applications received will remain valid, and will also be calling for fresh applications.
