NEW YORK: Katie Holmes says she was nervous before her Broadway debut but hubby Tom Cruise helped her by gathering all their family members to give her strength. And she insists their presence energised her.

Holmes debuted with Arthur Miller’s play All My Sons on Thursday at New York’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Imdb.com reports Holmes saying, “I was very, very excited. We had my whole family.” Commenting upon Cruise, she said, “He comes to the theatre a lot. I was so nervous, and I saw him out there, and he made me feel so much better. Every time he is there, I just feel like it is going to be okay.”
