Photojournalists feted
KATHMANDU: The setting could not have been better for a felicitation of this nature. Five photojournalists were being felicitated for their coverage of the national heritages in different national dailies, and the venue was the historic Patan Durbar Square.
Three photojournalists working with The Himalayan Times and its sister publication Annapurna Post were among the five felicitated on December 16 by the Sampada Photo Vision.
Nhuchheman Dangol, Dipendra Bajracharya and THT’s three photojournalists Bal Krishna Thapa, Rajendra Manandhar and Naresh Shrestha were each given a shawl and a small trophy in recognition of their work. However, Dipendra Maharjan was not present to collect his award. Ace landscape photographer Jagadish Tiwari was the chief guest.
The five also received gifts from Photo Concern.
An exhibition of photographs by photographers working with Sampada was also inaugurated.
