Poesy

Life’s journey

Smile like a flower

With great power

Every moment

You will never forget

Smile like the moon

With many a boon

On a dark, dark night

Which makes your

life bright

Forgetting all your

sorrows

All your grievances

Thinking you are in heaven

Which is far from hell

Because you have to spray golden colour of success

In your short and sweet life.

— Sharmila Dangol, Niharika Shishu Kunja High School, Kathmandu

In Nepali society:

Everyone is friendly

And live in mutual cooperation

Safe and security reign here

Peace has resided in

our society.

With different castes

and cultures

Languages, rites and rituals

Helping each other in trouble

Unity creates no problem.

Single persons cannot survive

Honesty is the Nepali identity

We all are joyful and happy

There is unity in our society.

— Robish Karki, Class VII, Kathmandu English School, Kathmandu

Mum:

My mother is a boon

To me she’ll all I want

She takes care of me

She always wants peace

She is nice and good

Like a God to me

She never tells a lie

As she has a huge fame

She is God’s gift

Which cannot lose value.

— Monica Sing, Class IV, South Point School, Janakpur

To touch the sky:

The space above the earth you are

To touch you we dare

The birds and clouds fly higher and high

But never touch you the sky.

The sun spreads its light across you

Making you bright

and blue

Sunny, rainy and cloudy days depend on you

Please tell us where you really are.

When the naughty clouds swim

And the lovely

birds sing

I like to fly higher

and high

Do help me oh wide sky.

I hate skylines and

skyscrapers

For they take see

you further

I want you to be closer

But you are always far.

— Samjhana Hada, Jaycees Secondary School, Bhaktapur
