Prashant does it again
Kathmandu:
We just can’t get enough of him. No matter what he does, sing in his soulful voice, dance on stage or just say something sweet and candid he for sure woos all his fans. Prashant Tamang was back in town with Amit Paul and Charu Semwal. This was Prashant and Charu’s third show in the Valley whereas Amit was performing for the very first time. The enthusiasm and excitement among the avid Prashant Tamang fans to see their favourite singer on stage did not seem to get any lesser as thousands poured into the Dasarath Stadium on the afternoon of December 22 for ‘Experience with the Idols’. The gate opened from 10 in the morning but a long queue was still outside the venue even when the concert had already started. Starting with felicitating the women mountaineers, the first performer of the day was the band Kid Soul. They gave a good opening to the concert with their rocking performance. They were followed by Anil Singh. Mingma Sherpa and Kranti Ale belted out their popular numbers like I love you, Cham Cham, Namuna, She is the bomb and many more. When Charu joined Ale for the very popular folk remix Chyanga ba the crowd went crazy to hear the beautiful Charu sing in Nepali. She also sang few well-loved songs like Pari hoon mai, It’s rocking, Mehboob mere, Bidi jalaile, Sajna pe wari wari and so on. Next in the line was Amit Paul who in his part was able to grasp the crowd’s attention with his choice of songs and interaction with the audience. Crooning romantic songs like Dil kya kare, Chand sifaris, Pehla nasha, In dino and peppy numbers like Bachna ae hashino, Yeh jawani hai dewaani and Yaad aaraha hai made the people present dance throughout. He also sang few lines from his upcoming Nepali song.
The crowd screamed their lungs out when Prashant made his appearance on stage. Starting with evergreen Asarae mahina ma he made sure he catered to the choice of all age groups present in the crowd. Asking singers like Singh and Ale to come on stage he performed Engine gadi ma and Sarkari jagira with them. He won everyone’s heart with songs like Yaar ko maine, Jab se tere naina, Ek din tere, Gorkhali among others. The concert continued till dusk, as the fans were reluctant to leave the venue and kept asking their favourite singers to sing some more. Though the security was pretty tight one of the female fans was able to get near the stage after jumping the gate, which caused quiet a ripple among the crowd. Some even tried to disrupt the enjoyment with petty fights, which were, however, controlled fast. The event was organised by Zero hour and presented by Mc Dowell’s No.1 and THT Live.
