KATHMANDU:

Celebrities and members of media houses, numbering more than 40, came together for a rally on August 10 as part of ‘Wave Kick Off 2007’, a charity football match between celebrities and media persons to be organised on August 11. Wave magazine in association with KTM Card is organising the event to assist the flood victims of the country.

The rally went around New Road area and managed to sell a number of tickets for the football match, while also garnering a fund of around Rs 10,000, said Deepak Bajracharya, founder of KTM Card.

“We expect to mobilise more than one million rupees, apart from the contributions from sponsors,” Bajracharya added. He informed that the tickets to the football match, priced at Rs 100 and Rs 200, would be available at the stadium entrance.

“It is difficult to go there, but you can help in some way, and it’s good,” shared Sangina Vaid-ya, one of the participants.
