Ringing in New Year

KATHMANDU: The New Year’s Eve falls on Friday the Thirteenth, and what could be a better excuse than this to have a New Year’s blast? With DJ’s from all over raining in on the Capital, not to mention a Bollywood babe, comedians, item dancer, and singers, the Valley looks set for a grand time.

Udita’s magic

Suryakala Films has gone all out to make sure that people will remember how they ushered in the year 2064 BS for a long time. They have three gigs planned — two on April 13 at Hotel Yak and Yeti, and one on April 14 at Sano Gaucharan.

Udita Goswami, Meet Brothers, stand-up comedian Jaswant Singh, item dancer Shia Sherawat and a Bollywood dance troupe will be entertaining those attending the ‘Lal Durbar’ at the Regal Ballroom on April 13. They will be joined by our own singers like Kranti Ale, Mingma Sherpa, Preeti Kaur and Shital and Shiwani Moktan. They will also be performing at the ‘New Year Dhamaka’ at Sano Gaucharan on April 14.

Ticket to Lal Durbar, which begins at 7:00 pm, is priced at Rs 2,499 (single) and Rs 4,499(couple), which includes unlimited drinks and dinner, while the ticket to New Year Dhamaka is priced at Rs 250.

‘Sinners in Heaven’ will also be held at Yak and Yeti’s Atrium on April 13. Ticket is priced at Rs 1,599.

Jammin’ with 1974 AD

Your favourite band 1974 AD will be playing at Shankhapark on April 13. The event titled ‘Live Concert in Sankhapart with 1974 AD’, which being organised by Aastha Kala Kendra is set to kick off at 2:00 pm. Hip-hop band Nepsydaz will also be performing at the concert. Ticket is priced at Rs 75.

Where fun never ends

Any celebration in town would not be complete without something special from PartyNepal. They are ready with two great parties at two equally great venues on April 13.

One is at the Liquid Lounge, Lazimpat where DJ Rafsy from Mumbai will take turns at the console with our very own DJ Vibe. Party animals need no introduction DJ Rafsy, who has been voted one of the top 10 popular DJ’s in India by Times of India newspaper and India Today magazine. Ticket is priced at Rs 800 (includes one drink) and fun begins at 9:00 pm.

DJ NVN is set to entertain at Sports Bar, Kamaladi. He will be pumping sounds of global undergro-und, hip-hop, house and remixes all night. Ticket is priced at Rs 500 (includes one drink), and be there no later than 9:00 pm.

KTM parties

Here’s your chance to enter the glam world — KTM Card is organising a number of parties and concerts on Friday and Saturday. Robin and The New Revolution will be performing at Thamel’s Celebrations Restaurant on April 13 from 7:00 pm, while KTM Mega Dance Party will go on at the Mitra Party Palace at Pulchowk from 5:00 pm.

If you miss Robin and The New Revolution’s gig on Friday, there’s no need to worry for they will be performing at Jawalakhel ground on April 14 , 2:00 pm onwards. Other artistes performing there include 1974 AD and Om Bajra.
