KATHMANDU: Continuing with its series of tribute to various legendry rock bands and rocking the Valley with varied performances, Surya 24 Carat paid its tribute to The Rolling Stones at 1905 restaurant, Kantipath on January 10.

To promote its limited edition of Surya 24 Carat, Tribute to Rock, they have been organising various concerts around town. Going back to the revolutionary ‘rock n roll’ era of music, the greatest hits of The Rolling Stones was presented by well known band The Sound Minds. The band previously paid tribute to The Beatles on the first concert of the series held at the Fusion

Bar of Hotel Dwarika’s.

The venue was filled with rock fans of all ages eager to enjoy the rendition of their rock idols. Enjoying the rum punch and delicious snacks, the crowd scattered around the garden enjoying

music and keeping warm at the bonfire. In the first half of the concert, the band performed some of the slow tempo songs which all enjoyed. Fans were busy participating in the quiz based on the band. In the second half, fast tempo foot tapping music made all get up and dance. Songs like Satisfaction and Honky Tonk Woman made all shout for an encore. Aucostic performance too was well received by the crowd. The band also performed songs by the contemporaries of The Rolling Stones like The Beatles and CCR.

The grand finale of the series will take place at Hotel Shangri-La on February 6. The event will be a Tribute to Pink Floyd and other legendary rock bands. Various rock bands like The Sound Minds, Nekhavam, Jigme and The Strings, Abhaya and the Steam Injuns will re-create the aura of the rock eras by performing all time hits of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Jimi Hendrix, and Pink Floyd.
