KATHMANDU: “I had not even dreamt of wearing such an expense watch,” said Gokarna Sapkota after winning a Tag Heuer Formula 1 Quartz Chronograph worth Rs 1,00,000 and Seiko Rivoli Watch worth Rs 27,000 in THT Live weekly reverse auction Ooltobolee. His lowest unique bid (lub) was Rs 32.26.

Sapkota was handed over the prizes at an informal function organised at the APCA House on March 10.

Excited by his win, Sapkota an MA II year student at Balmiki Vidhyapit said, “It is quite interesting as well as exciting to place bids. And winning unaffordable prizes at such a small amount of money gives a different pleasure.”

He added, “A group of us (friends) have been eagerly playing the game since its first edition.”

Also a teacher in Mitra Madhyamik Vidyalaya at Kalimati, Sapkota said, “I will wear the Tag Heur watch myself, but I have not decided who I will gift the lady’s watch.”

Sapkota said Ooltobolee is truly a fair game.

Ooltobolee is a ‘reverse bidding’ weekly auction where one can place bids through SMSes during a stipulated

bidding time. The subscribers of NTC, Mero Mobile

or UTL who are 18 years and above can participate in

it. The one sending the lowest unique bid becomes the

winner. The bidding time for next week starts at 7:00 am on March 14.
