Runway tete-a-tete : Bold and very beautiful

Kathmandu:

The nation is gearing up to see who will be crowned the Lux Supermodel on September 22. Today we meet another finalist from Kathmandu — she is a BBS student and aspires to be a marketing executive because “this field gives an opportunity to interact with different kinds of people”.

She’s Dipa Shakya, 5’6”, for whom modelling is more of a hobby and this aspiring model would also love to be a VJ.

Tall by our local standards, when she saw the Supermodel Hunt ads, Dipa thought, “Why not?”

And she says it was a very special feeling when she was chosen as one of the finalists.

“There were other girls who were far more beautiful than me, yet to be chosen... that’s was, simply speaking, really special,” says Dipa, who is going into the contest with the aim of having fun and learning much at the same time.

Black is her favourite colour and lists home sweet home as her favourite place. A true netizen, her she spends most of her time chatting to her friend Amby in the US, who is one of

her favourite four people. “He is very happy for me,” says Dipa. She loves spicy foods especially haku choella, but hates liars, greedy and selfish people.

This 21-year-old admires Jharna Bajracharya and thinks that the “right expression, confidence and the friendly attitude” could go a long way in making one a supermodel.

Should she win the hunt, Dipa would love to give the entire cash prize amount, that is Rs 50,000, to her parents, but says she’ll spend “a little on throwing a party”.
