SCHOOL TIMES : KUHS sports week held

We all are having lots of fun and it is one of the best moments of our life” was what most of the students of Kathmandu University High School (KUHS) thought during the annual sports week 2007. All the students had a lot of fun participating in different games. Sports is beneficial and entertaining as well. It provides both physical and mental exercise. It helps to refresh the minds of people, especially students who are tired of attending classes bounded by four walls. Students not only need theoritical knowledge but practical as well. To give a break to students from usual classes and make them feel relaxed KUHS organised this event.

The event was divided into two sections — Primary and Secondary Level. Primary level included classes 1 to 5 and secondary level included classes 6 to 10. The athletic event included high jump, long jump, 100m race, 400m race, 4*100m relay, shot put etc and the sporting event included football, volleyball, badminton and basketball. In primary level there were other interesting events like musical chair, bursting balloons competition, biscuit eating competition etc. Almost all the students participated in it and winners were awarded with medals and certificates.

The competitions in the sports week were between four houses of the school — Motiram house (Yellow), Lekhnath house (blue), Bhanubhakta house (red) and Laxmiprasad house(green). The cherished cup was won by Bhanubhakta house by securing highest points and Motiram house was the runner up.
