SCHOOL TIMES : Sweet fruits of hard work
There was a boy named Sujan. He was 12 years old. His mother had died when he was very young. He had to do all the work at home, and was so busy with the housework that he had no time to do his homework. So he was always being punished in school.
That day too he had gone to school without doing his homework. His teacher asked him, “Why didn’t you complete your assignment?”
Sujan did not have any answer, and just said, “Sorry sir.”
His teacher went on, “You do not do your homework. Do you have any problem at home?”
So Sujan him everything. The teacher understood Sujan’s problem, but told him to allocate time for schoolwork despite his other responsibilities and even gave him some advice on how to manage his time properly.
“Utilise time properly. Do not waste time in unnecessary things. If you allocate time for everything, then you can do anything,” said the teacher.
Sujan promised to do so. And from the next day, he started doing his homework first and then the other work.
In time, he passed the SLC in the first division.
He wanted to carry on with his studies, but did not have money. But luckily he got a job as a teacher in a school.
Time passed and Sujan completed his MA and became a lecturer in a campus, and married
a well-educated beautiful girl, who bore him a son.
Once a poor boy, Sujan had now become a professor.
This all became possible only because of his hard work and dedication to his studies and perseverance. — Ravi Mahat, Class VIII, Pegasus English School
