MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has been chosen for the 12th

Rajiv Gandhi Award for ‘Best Actor’ category. The award function will be held in Mumbai in the second week of August.

The excited actor said, “I was pleasantly surprised to get the news about myself being chosen for the prestigious award. I am only 28 years old and it’s really early in my career. I feel humbled and honoured to be chosen by the jury.”

Son of a good actor, Pankaj Kapoor, Shahid has established himself with high acting profile, giving out several successful films. His last hit was Jab We Met for which he was nominated for ‘Best Actor’ at many award functions. In Kaminey, his next release, he is donning dual characters for the first time. — Agencies
