LONDON: Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, in the middle of an alleged racist row, has won another round of popular voting to stay put on Channel 4’s reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother that saw singer Jo O’Meara, one of those accused of racial slurs against the Indian actress, evicted along with actor Cleo Rocos. The double evictions now leaves Shetty with five other housemates.

Jo received almost 48 per cent of the vote, while 28 per cent viewers wanted Rocos to go. The reality show hogged international media attention after British actor Jade Goody bullied Shetty and made allegedly racist remarks.

Now Shetty, former actor Dirk Benedict and singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins are up for eviction.

The 31-year-old Indian is believed to be an odds-on favourite to win.

The finals, which will see one contestant win the reality show, is scheduled January 29.
