KATHMANDU: Nurturing a long-standing dream of being a singer, and practising rigorously for three years, Sabina Karki has finally come out with her debut album, Simal, which was launched on January 13.

Noted musician Ananda Karki did the honours at a function organised at Radisson Hotel. Simal has a total of eight songs. The melodious Yeti dherai maya nadeu and the duet with Anand Karki, Kati choto lagchahave have already been aired on FMs for quite some time now. Two of the numbers have been made into music videos as well — Yeti dherai and the gazal-like Pirati lagai maile. The lyrics of Pirati were penned sme 42 years ago.

“Hers is a new and beautiful voice in Nepal, ” said Karki during the launch, which was graced by noted personalities from the film and music industry.
