LOS ANGELES: Jessica Simpson was shaken up by a magnitude 6.6 earthquake, which hit Japan on Tuesday morning (11Aug09) local time.

The pop star had just arrived in the country to shoot footage for her new reality show The Price of Beauty when the tremors woke her up.

In a Twitter.com, Simpson told fans, "(I) thought I was hallucinating. I have never felt anything like this in my life. Laying in bed watching (news channel) CNN."

The earthquake struck southwest of Tokyo.
